Proposed Historic Renovation of Reeves-Wiedeman Company
3635 Main St Kansas City, Mo

We currently operate our 19th location at 3635 Main St on the first floor and have the balance of the building leased out.  The building is satisfactory as is, for us, and our tenants.  Business has been good and we are glad we’re there.  We also see the potential of a significant rehabilitation for the building, the neighborhood and the city, if we were to upgrade the facility into class A office and retail space.  In addition, this would allow our nearly 125 year old company, to move back to Kansas City, where we started back in 1887.
Our decision to renovate or not hinges on whether we can receive the necessary tax abatement, and tax credits to justify the extra cost of our proposed renovation.  Once the EDC completes their financial analysis, and recommends incentives for our project, our company will be making a decision on whether or not we plan to proceed with the project.
Newly renovated space would allow us to move our corporate headquarters back to Kansas City Mo after a 30 year absence.  We were forced to move from 2711 Warwick back in the late 70’s to make room for Crown Center.  A very important aspect of our project for us is to move our headquarters back to where our roots are, and is a feather in the cap for the City of Kansas City, Mo, attracting an old name company such as ours back to the city where we began.  We look forward to being part of the success story of rebuilding, and bringing back to life, the city core, from downtown to midtown!
